Best cooking magazine?

My husband just started going to school to get his Culinary degree. He is REALLY into it and loves it so far. I have been thinking of good things to get him for Christmas. I was thinking a subscription to a cooking magazine. Which one do you recommend? I have seen alot of good reviews on Cook's Illustrated but I wanted to get other people's opinion first. He doesn't like Wine and he wants to try new and different foods...if that also helps. Thanks!Best cooking magazine?
BBC magazine they have one for cooking and I think its the best
tasteofhome.com

I get both Simply Delicious %26amp; Taste of Home and can't wait to get them each month....I do both as they come every other month, so I never miss a month of getting a magazine !

They are awesome and have pictures and easy to follow directions!

I go there often and love the variety of recipes!

If I were a beginner I'd love this web site as it is east to navigate and you can search if you want something in particular. I am always trying new ideas from there for dinner !Best cooking magazine?
Bon App茅tit or Gourmet are pretty good, especially when it comes to the "new foods" thing.Best cooking magazine?
Bon Appetit is loaded with beautiful pictures.

Buy him a copy of the book Larousse Gastronimic which will cost over $100 but it contains all the cooking and culinary arts terms and descriptions that he will ever use. Barnes and Noble has it and so will other book stores.

The other great set of cookbooks is:

"Culinaria" published by Konemann in Europe - I paid $150 for my set of 2 huge volumes with tons of wonderful pictures and recipes from all over Europe - there are photos of animals and cuts of meat, chocolate, cheese, veggies, fish, etc.

Does he have a good set of knives at home? A Kitchen Aid Food Mixer? Aprons and hats and Lagostina stainless steel cookwear for home? Do you know about wine/beer/spirits? So when you give a dinner party, which is one way of spreading the cheer and keeping him practicing you can be the super hostess while he is in the kitchen. The other really important thing is to support him in his cause. Cooking is very hard work and it demands attention to detail, artistry and a good sense of taste as well as the ability to do 12 things at once. DO The DISHES for HIM when he cooks.... you will be amazed at the number of pots that he will go through. And do it with love and respect. There is nothing quite like a kitchen that is nice and clean after the people have left the party, you two can sit back and smile and giggle at how well it went and when you get up in the morning the kitchen will be clean and neat and tidy. The other trick is to have containers to put all the food into after the meal is finished. In cooking school and in restaurants they have tons of containers. Get a good supply of them in - with lids. Keep the fridge clean and have a really good time. Take a food safe course too if possible. He will come home with all sorts of ideas and sometimes they will work and sometimes they won't. Remember to not get into confusion cuisine where so many things are in the recipe that it looks and tastes like a "dogs breakfast" HAVE FUN!!!!!
