Another hoax?

Nebraska Man. In 1922 Harold Cook discovered a single tooth in a river bed in Nebraska. Henry Fairfield Osborn, head of the American Museum of Natural History, declared it to be from a pithecanthropoid and named it Hesperopithecus harold cooki, thus America now had their own ape-man. England's prestigious Illustrated London News having a worldwide distribution, published a full reconstruction of the ape-man and his wife based upon this tooth. The ACLU was prepared to use this tooth as prime evidence in the famous Scopes trial in July 1925. By 1928 it was discovered that the tooth actually belonged to an extinct peccary or pig. This embarrassment was compounded in 1972 when living herds of this same pig (Catagonus wagneri) were discovered in Paraguay and thus it was not even extinct!Another hoax?
This is one of many. But many believe and follow those who "discover" such things and call other "religious" people fools. Go figure.
Would you like a cookie?????Another hoax?
Not a hoax but a mistake.

You see, Science, unlike religion, is self-correcting. That's why Nebraska man, Piltdown man, and others are never listed among actual findings anymore. They did'nt stand up to peer-review.

Religion on the other hand has NO evidence to back it up. That's so much easier than trying to get evidence for an imaginary sky-pixie huh?Another hoax?
You are obviously having a hard time getting the answers from your last question through your meaty head, so I'll repost it so you can try again...

Guess who proved that they were false?

It wasn't ignorant creationists, but scientists.

Science is self-correcting.

You can stick to your backwards, primitive thinking, and I'll settle for the pinnacle of human knowledge, thanks.
So what. Who cares. Are you even asking a question.

Another pointless ramble from a pointey headed gnome.
Good thing science corrects itself!

I notice that the donkey in the Bible is STILL talking.

(WOW - spooky... two Guy Fawkes in one post!)
That's not a hoax. It was a mistaken identity. And the problem was corrected.

Really. As someone currently working on a Masters in Anthropology, I feel compelled to tell you that your attempts at these arguments are ridiculous. You may find some guillable people here who don't know any better to fall for your silliness, but those of us who are at least somewhat educated on the matters only laugh. Find something better to do.
I'm sorry, but this is more creationist dishonesty.

The tooth was never held in high regard by scientists. Osborn, who described it, was unsure whether it came from a hominid or from another kind of ape, and others were skeptical that it even belonged to a primate. The illustration was done for a popular publication and was clearly labeled as highly imaginative.

Nebraska Man is an example of science working well. An intriguing discovery was made that could have important implications. The discoverer announced the discovery and sent casts of it to several other experts. Scientists were initially skeptical. More evidence was gathered, ultimately showing that the initial interpretation was wrong. Finally, a retraction was prominently published.

Some day you'll figure it out: ALL CREATIONIST ARGUMENTS ARE DISHONEST.
So science discovered and corrected its own mistakes. that's what it's supposed to do. Not a single scientist will ever say that the point of science is to, in one event, discover unchanging and unchangeable truth.

Scientists' pencils have erasers on them. Nothing written is assumed to be permanent. That's the whole strength and advantage of science as opposed to religion. Ironically you criticize the greatest attribute of science, thus displaying breathtaking ignorance.

What do you wildy imagine this says about creationism by the way? Because one tooth was misidentified for six whole years that means gawd did it?
Notice how the Scientific community and peer review discovered the mistake and it was corrected, much to the embarrassment of Mr Osborne?

That is what makes the scientific process so valuable and reliable, it is self correcting.

Now compare that story of mis identification to the creationist claims of finding Giants in Minnesota. It was proven to be a hoax years ago, yet creationist sites still refer to the 'finding' as proof that Giants existed like the bible claims. Science discovered and exposed their mistake, Creationism utilizes theirs to this day.

A little honest internet research will quickly help you understand that you are being misled and lied to by snake oil salesmen.
You got one hoax in the 100,000 of truths of fossils. we got 100,000 hoaxes in the bible.

I found out that the bank didn't add up some number correctly, so I guess mathematics is false.
lol hoax

you need to read dictionaries

or some books for that matter

OTHER than the bible
So science corrects its mistakes: that's a good thing.

Why don't you hold religion to the same standard? After all, rabbits don't chew cud... looks like the Bible is completely disproven as a hoax, eh?
no one but cook believed it to be human remains and it was scientists who revealed the fact that they were pig's teeth. the illustrated london news was a fallacious tabloid like the national inquirer and it was the journal that made the picture up, nothing to do with science. and as far as i can find out there is no record of the ACLU ever doing such a thing. if you can give an independent source for that i would be happy to look at it, but i suspect it is the usual creationist obscurantism and misquoting .
give me a cookie and ill give more fable stories u have never ever heard before

a mistake is a mistake at least somebody noticed it and seriously deal and took some resposibility with it...

what about the bible...

somebody seach them!
